What are Audiologists?

As autonomous hearing health professionals, audiologists screen, assess, identify and manage our patients’ hearing issues. These issues include peripheral or central hearing loss, tinnitus, auditory processing disorders and balance disorders. When needed, we might suggest investing in a hearing aid. Audiologists also help our patients without hearing loss avoid these issues through preventative care. We’re passionate medical professionals dedicated to improving our patients’ everyday lives through our audiology treatments. All audiologists in Canada must have a minimum of a master’s degree or equivalent to practice – our audiologist at Hearing Unlimited gained hers in 1991 and has been helping Peterborough patients ever since.
